GP-Link supporting GPs in the southeast metro corridor
GP-Link is a partnership between Starick and Anglicare WA, delivered through the Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) Primary Care Integration Pilot.
Supporting general practices across Armadale, Gosnells and Canning, GP-Link helps GPs and practice teams respond safely, confidently and effectively to patients affected by family, domestic and sexual violence.
By bringing specialist FDSV expertise into primary care settings, GP-Link:
- strengthens the capacity of health professionals to recognise indicators of abuse.
- creates safe opportunities for disclosure, assessing risk, supporting safety planning, and
- connects patients with specialist services.
The program is grounded in strengths-based, trauma-informed and Safe & Together aligned practice, ensuring care is delivered with dignity, choice, safety and collaboration at its core.
How GP-Link improves access to support for women experiencing FDSV
GP-Link demonstrates how integrated health and community services can improve access to support for women experiencing violence and abuse. By embedding specialist knowledge within trusted local healthcare settings, the program helps reduce barriers to support and promotes safer, more equitable health outcomes.

GP-Link FAQ
GP Link workers are co-located within several GP practices across the City of Armadale, City of Gosnells, and City of Canning. If you are attending a participating practice, you can speak with your GP, nurse, midwife, or another staff member about being referred to the GP Link service when it is safe for you to do so. Practice staff receive training in trauma-informed and FDSV informed approaches to support women and children experiencing or impacted by family, domestic and sexual violence.
GP Link works alongside participating general practices to strengthen their capacity to support women and children who have experienced family, domestic and sexual violence. GP Link workers are currently co-located at the following practice, where FDSV-informed clinicians are available; Forrest Road GP, Canning Vale Medical Centre, Kelvale Medical Group, Skye Medical Armadale, Skye Medical Canning Vale, Southern Star Medical, Spencer Road Family Practice and Thornlie Square Medical.
GP consultation fees vary between practices, just as they do with any general practitioner appointment. Some clinics offer bulk billing for eligible patients, while others operate under a private or mixed billing model. If you wish to see a GP at one of the participating practices, we recommend contacting the clinic directly to discuss their fees or bulk billing arrangements.
GP Link is a free service. There is no cost to see a GP Link worker, and no Medicare rebate is required to access the service. Please not that fees for consultation with a GP is separate and are determined by the individual general practice.
