Board Members

 

 CHAIR: Wendy Wiley

Wendy Wiley has worked in management administrative roles in the private and government sectors in the oil and gas industry, health, education and the construction industry. She has qualifications in business and contract management. Wendy is currently a director of the Peel Health Foundation and is a member of Soroptimist International of South Perth’s executive committee. She has served on many committees and boards, including education, sporting and community bodies, in the capacity of chair and finance committee member.      


 TREASURER: Sean Thorpe

Sean Thorpe joined the Starick board in September 2015 with the goal of giving something back to the community through supporting Starick to provide much needed services to a vulnerable sector of society.   Sean is a senior manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he specialises in consulting and assurance services for Not-for-profit and charitable organisations.  He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Curtin University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand. Sean is also an alumni of the Emerging Leaders in Governance program, and is passionate about good governance in the Not-for-profit sector.  


                               

  Board Member: Arthur Wilson

 

 

 

Arthur has a Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management from Flinders University and a Masters Degree in Information Management from the University of Western Australia. He has led several successful Western Australian public sector initiatives for multiple government agencies, including the Health Department and the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Arthur has also lectured locally and overseas for the University of Western Australia and Edith Cowan University.

 


 annette Raynor small    Board Member: Dr Annette Raynor

Dr Annette Raynor is an Associate Professor in Exercise and Sports Science at Edith Cowan University and has previously worked at universities in Singapore and South Australia. Annette has held senior academic leadership roles including Head of School where she has led and managed a large cohort of academic and professional staff, was responsible for the accreditation of several courses with a number of different professional bodies and the financial management of a large multi-discipline School. Annette was elected to the Starick board in 2015 and has a Bachelor of Physical Education (1st class Honours), Diploma of Education and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Western Australia.

 


Gae Synnott 2 Board Member: Dr Gae Synnott

Gae brings strong social sciences, management and communications perspectives to the Starick Board. Gae has more than 30 years of consulting experience, plus experience in corporate, government and academic roles covering research and engagement projects in remote communitites, through to facilitation of board room discussions and strategic planning workshops. 

Gae holds a Communications degree, an MBA, and a PhD in Psychology exploring issues of culture, values and identity. She is a recent graduate from the AICD Company Directors Course and joined the Starick Board in July 2016. 




Damian Green Pic Small Board Member: Damian Green

Damian Green joined the Board of Starick in July 2016. He is a registered psychologist currently working as an independent consultant specialising in Family and Domestic Violence policy and practice, with a particular interest in perpetrator interventions and men's behaviour change. Damian works as a sessional academic and research associate within the Faculty of Health and Sciences at Curtin University. 

Prior to these roles, Damian worked for nine years at Communicare as Executive Manager for Accommodation and Therapuetic Services. Here, he was responsible for a directorate that included a Professional Training Institute, Psychological Services, Family and Domestic Violence Services and Justice Services.

Damian sits on various committees and advisory groups at both a state and federal level, is an ambassador for White Ribbon Day, and is strongly committed to the goal of ending violence towards women and children.  Damian is an experienced facilitator and trainer having worked extensively in the areas of violent offending, men's behaviour change and parenting.

Damian has presented at numerous conferences on the topics of family and domestic violence, crisis accommodation, case management and clinical practice.

Alicia joined the Starick board in September 2016 and brings over 15 years of marketing and business development experience from private and not for profit sector roles.

In her current position as Senior Manager, Clients & Strategy at PwC, she works with leaders to create and execute marketing strategies aligned to business objectives.

Alicia is former Chair of UN Women Australia’s International Women’s Day Committee and has been an advisory committee member of Camp Quality WA and Asia-Pacific Professional Services Marketing Association (APSMA).

She holds a BA (Mass Communication) from Curtin University of Technology. 


Photo GM 2016 Board Member: Georgia Malone

Georgia Malone has a Graduate Diploma in Management (Arts and Cultural Management) from the University of South Australia. She has been an active member of the Australian Arts Industry for 20 years, with the last decade dedicated to strategic Marketing at some of Australia's most significant contemporary arts organisations. Working in festivals, venues and producing companies in both the visual and performing arts, she has developed an extremely comprehensive and broad knowledge of the industry nationally.

Georgia has cultivate an extremently strong professional network within the arts industry at all levels from independent artists through CEOs of Major Performing Arts Companies and also with key stakeholders including funding bodies, local government, corporations and suppliers on both the East and West coasts of Australia. Georgia was also the General Manager of TEDx Perth 2014-2016.

Georgia currently runs her own company, Georgia Malone Consulting PTY Ltd, a company with a focus on marketing strategy, events management and producing.
